Orchard

Last Sunday, we visited one of the orchard in Perth..

Unfortunately, there is nothing much to see..
We were advised to visit the orchard in Mar or Apr.

The main reason is to get CHEAP fruits...
Guess what:
1KG of pink lady red apple is AUD2
1KG of persimmon is AUD1.50
1KG of granny smith green apple is AUD1

Though the skin might not look appealing but they taste good!

Caves

We visited the 3 caves:

a. Jewel Cave (dried cave)

b. Mammoth Cave (dried)

c. Lake Cave (water still running through...)

Temperature: 15°C (chilling and dark)

This is what normally you could found in a cave:

- Straws grow in places where water leaches slowly through cracks in rock, such as on the roofs of caves (look alike spaghetti)

- Stalactites is a type of speleothem (secondary mineral) that hangs from the ceiling of limestone caves.

- Stalagmite is a type of speleothem that rises from the floor of a limestone cave due to the dripping of mineralized solutions and the deposition of calcium carbonate.

We visited our first cave on Saturday morning at 9.30am...

Name: Jewel Cave

Location: Approximately 38 kilometers south of Margaret River and 12 kilometers north of Augusta

Short Trip- Part I

On 22 Apr 2011 (Friday), we departed at 6am from our rented house and here's the summary schedule of our trip... 

0900: Arrived at Busselton Jetty

- Photo taking

- 2km walk to the end of jetty

- Visited Busselton Underwater Observatory

- 2km return with the train

1200: Arrived at Margaret River

- Visited the information center, bought two-ultimate pass at AUD60/pac 

(for 4 places- 3 Caves & 1 Cape)

- Lunch at Dome

1400: Heading to Brilea Cottage B&B

1530: Bought some frozen foods from IGA

1600: Arrived at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse (with tour guide)

- Photo taking

- Heading to the lighthouse step by step

1700: Back to Brilea Cottage

and I slept at 1900...

A year wiser!

Thank you for the birthday treat. I really enjoy it ~ lobster, squid, fish, prawn, scallops and oyster with a piece of cheesecake and a blueberry crumble!

At last, we found our new "nest" !

We'll be moving to Thornlie - another suburb in Perth. It's about 5mins walk to the train station and 5mins drive to IGA Supermarket. Since I'm not working today, I decided to just check out the places with my husband and will be meeting the landlord this coming Sunday!  Frankly speaking, we can't complaint much about it anymore since we're just renting a room....Besides, that's just a temporary "nest" to us while awaiting the new house to be built. Furthermore, we're paying 150/week including water and electricity.

FYI, there are total of 5 rooms and 3 had been occupied by the landlord themselves and 2 will be leased... Husband and I will be taking one of the rooms while the other room will be taken by hubby's colleague (cum friend from Malaysia) but he has not decide yet!

Anyway, we'll be moving to the new place on the 22nd Oct 2010...

Changes

OMG!

Michael and family are soon moving to their new premises and supposedly there will be another guy from Malaysia is taking over this house and we thought that we're going to continue to have the same room until my new house is ready.

Now, the guy is not coming to Perth at this moment due to unpredictable circumstances. Therefore, we have to move out from this rented house. In 3 weeks time, we have to look for a new place. :( We decided to rent a room instead of a house! That's what we're looking for at the moment, somewhere near to train station or bus station.....(because of me again!)

Sometimes, things do change! It happened  and we can't say much about it......

Yesterday, I managed to finish Grey's Anatomy S1 (It's more likely about life of the intern in hospital)

Now, I'm moving on to S2 (27 episodes)

At this stage, there are total of 7 seasons

More to go...

Tomorrow, I'm going back to work as usual.

Something to share

Recently, I put an order for 2 wallets through Braun Buffel online store.  FYI, this was my first time getting such an expensive wallet for my husband and myself. :)

A sumptuous dinner

I have been wanting to visit this restaurant ever since YH's BIL mentioned that to me....

Finally, I had this dinner on 18 Sept 2010. Supposedly, my husband had promised to bring me to the restaurant two weeks ago but due to unpredictable circumstances, we didn't make it. Anyhow, I made it at last. :)

As I'm working today, so we reached there about 5.45pm. Guess what? You can't imagine that, lots of people has been queuing outside for their turn. Luck is on my side, we just waited for about 10-15 minutes only.   Anyway, we just ordered two dishes - Fettuccine and Grilled chicken with salads. 

I have no complaint about the food. Besides, this was my first visit to Italian restaurant in Perth.

Before leaving, I ordered a tiramisu for takeaway.

Espirit Club

I started joining Espirit Club since I'm in Australia and this is my second time receiving the e-voucher. With the voucher, I 'm able to get another 2 brand new tees! :)

Signing up is absolutely free! When you purchase any of the Espirit products (including EDC) with the club card presented, points will be collected (AUD1=1point) and with 200 points, you'll be receiving a AUD10 voucher! FYI, I received emails on the updated news and I found that they are on sales all the time. Therefore, it's really worth  to buy one or two. (especially around June!)

Another new gadjet

This item has been launched since 2008 (* second generation). I've been eagerly wanting to own one long time ago and on 6 June 2010, I bought it without any hesitation. FYI, the retail price of this item is AUD264 and you could be able get it in any of the electronic shops for about AD250.

Guess what? I bought it at AUD199 at a duty free shop in Perth city (supposed it should be AUD181 + 10% GST) as I'm not traveling in a month (that's the reason I couldn't get it at AUD181). Two months ago, DS was offering at AUD199 for a few days and I was a bit undecided whether to get or not.  At last, I insisted not to buy as I understood that the price will be dropping again sooner or later. Unfortunately, the price is still at AUD238 (*even after discounted price) until yesterday I saw it in the duty free shop. Without any second thought, I bought it.. :)

I'll be entertained with heaps of musics and movies all the time no matter whether I'm in the train or bus. In addition, I could be connected wirelessly whenever I'm at WIFI-spot. Besides, this isn't a phone nor laptop and it doesn't come with stylus! Hehe, I bet you should be able to guess it right now with the clues.

That's right ~ Ipod Touch (with 8GB storage)! Anyway, I'm not showing off or anything and just wish to share with you guys! As you guys know,  I  can't afford to have such an expensive Iphone , therefore I'm looking for something alike to "chong ahh loh" ("Cantonese")!  Heheheh....

P/S: I'm thinking of getting a dock later on, so that I could have better surround system!

Point Water Reserve

Point Water Reserve is another superb location for BBQ & picnicking. My former colleague ~ Ms.Yeap did mention about the beach before. Last Saturday (10 April 2010), we finally make our mind to be there! Therefore, I would like to share some of the photos with you..

A step closer to nature

Both of us just came back from Albany (a 3-days and 2-nights trip) due to Easter Friday and Good Monday (Public Holiday in WA). As I told you before, it's about 406km (approx. 6 hours drive) away from Perth and you couldn't find any tall building in Albany, only plants and beaches! It's certainly a place of interest in WA if you looking to take a step closer to nature.

We departed at 6 in the morning on Friday and reached Albany around 12.30pm. Unfortunately, there was a heavy downpour on the first day,we could only stayed at the hotel watching Pasta! (Luckily we had our notebook with us)

The next day, we visited The Wind Farm, The Gap, The Blowhole and the Whale World.
