My Recipe- Herbal Tea Egg

Do you notice that nowadays cooking can be easy? Trust me! Taking the herbal tea egg as an example, anyone including me and you can prepare them so easily! ;)

Ingredients:
a) 2 sachets (pronounced sa-shay) of herbal tea egg spices
b) 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
c) 1.5 tablespoons dark sauce
d) dark brown sugar (optional)

e) 15-30 eggs

My cooking instruction:-
Step 1. Rinse the eggs with water and put them into a pot of boiled water.
Step 2. After 10 ~15 minutes (medium heat), rinse them with cold water (egg with shell).
Step 3. Crack the eggs by using the spoon (leaving the shell together).
Step 4. Boil another pot of water with the above ingredients.
Step 5. Add those eggs to the boiled water.
Step 6. Reduce to medium heat and allow the herbal soup to simmer.
Step 7. Serve hot after 2~4 hours.

My suggestion: Let it stays overnight. I bet they taste much more better! (Of course, it depends on individual preferences)

Me?

Yesterday, I joined in the curry chicken feast! The curry chicken reminded me of my mum.

A lot of my friend kept telling me that I'm gonna miss Malaysia food so much! Frankly speaking, I'm not! I just miss my mum home-cooked food so much. For me, her food always deserve a higher compliment than any of the hawker food.

~@**~

Actually, I'm no longer doing the cooking job in Australia. Nowadays, my hubby's stomach is highly relying on this Master Chef in the house- Michael Tang. [Note: Supposedly, this should be my responsibility. Anyway, thanks Michael for feeding my hubby's stomach.].What about me? Did I mention that?

PR: Part 1

I was named by "Queen Elizabeth III". Curious? Still remembered the day I attended the Citizenship Ceremony? Michael and his son were calling me to snap a photo with all of them, but I was reluctant to do so! Besides, they exclaimed that I looked alike the Queen sitting on the golden chair (there is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth hanging on the wall)
~@**~
Since the previous blog I had mentioned on how to become an Australian Citizen, then I should take this opportunity to elaborate more on how to become an Australian Permanent Residency (PR).The following selection is only applicable to people outside Australia.

a) Applying under Skilled Migrant (subclass 175)....like I do):
- Pass a point test of 120
- Age under 45

b) Applying under Skilled-Sponsored Migrant (subclass 176)):
- Pass a point test of 100
- Age under 45
- Sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia.

The point test is calculated based on:
- Age (Points: 30)
- English language ability (Points: 25)
- Nominated Skill Occupation (Points: 60)
- Work Experience (Points: 10)

Australian Citizenship

Michael and his kids will be attending the Citizenship ceremony today. After all, they are no longer Malaysian but Aussie! Of course, hubby and I are honored to be the guests for this special occasion.

After the ceremony, we're served with sumptuous refreshment ~ Puffs, bacon, salami, cheese, sandwiches and dim sim! It's super yummy...

Last but not least, I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Michael and his children. He has been anxiously waiting for this day long time ago. Finally, he made it! A big applause to 3 of them. ;)

FYI, to be an Australian:
a) Sit for a test of 20 multiples questions and pass at a min of 60% (based on a booklet ~ Becoming an Australian Citizen)
b) 2 years Australian PR.
c) Good character - No crime records!

On or after 1st Jul 2008 Australian PR (just like hubby and I):
a) Sit for a test of 20 multiples question and pass at a min of 75% (based on a new booklet ~ Australian Citizenship Our Common Bond)
b) 4 years Australian PR.
c) Good character.

P/S: I am holding the two books. BTW, you can get the book FOC [either through online or by calling the office]

Parcel

A close friend (cum ex-colleague) is going to celebrate her birthday in a few days time. And I thought of surprising her! Therefore, I dropped by the post office to check out the ETA date  (estimated time arrived) and the price (Note: I already had a check on the Internet before visiting them) on 30th Sept 2009. As told, it took about 10 working days by Air Mail to reach the final destination. At last, I  make up my mind to courier it the following day.

I was there the next day. Filling up the form and weighing the parcel as usual. I was calculating the ETA date again! By no mistake, the parcel will reach a day or two before her birthday (exactly 10 working days).

~@**~@**

Gosh.......I have been overestimated! Guess what? The parcel reached SP in just 5 working day! (am I right?) For me, though it was not a surprise; at least it reached Malaysia safely. Hope she enjoyed it! ;)

"A bowl of snack, making a lively day of yours "

Finally ~ it's off!

If you are following my blog, I've had been to the specialist because of my nose!

At first I thought I was diagnosed with sinus. (Note: Hehe..luckily, I'm not!) Just that I'm allergic to the XXX(unknown ~ it might be the air-con or dust). I'm on medication at that time- so relief with the medicine!  After all, I didn't consult the doctor anymore because first and foremost, I don't like those pills (note: Even I'm just a little fever or running nose, I would rather let it be as it!) and it's kinda waste of money (note: I knew the root of the problem)!

The doctor did tell me if I'm not on medicine ~ the problem will come and go occassionally. And I just let it happened all the time!

Now my nose is no longer "happening"! (Note: No more sneezing and "ha chew-ing" for continues 3-5 days). Hoping it won't happen especially during summer. (Note: Summer is around Dec ~ Feb because of the humid, dry and hot weather)

BBQ

Have you ever try out BBQ-ing in an open air area? FOC? During day-time? in a park?

Just bring along your own food(whatever for BBQ- marinated pork, chicken, beef or even lamb, Smith's chips, fruits, champagne or wine....) Ohhh, I almost forgotten FOC is just the "BBQ stove"! ;) In Perth (actually most of the park in Australia) is equipped with BBQ stove! (Note: Some of the country is equipped with such facilities as well)

I love BBQ-ing  so much and I still remembered the time with a bunch of good old friends (during our school time), we used to stay overnight at a friend house just to BBQ. (Very unfortunately, we didn't take any photo during that time. Dear fellows, if you have those photos, mind email it to me!)

Stay tune with me! ;)

Yanchep National Park

We visited Yanchep National Park today. It was actually a last minutes trip. We received call from Sean to join them and we agreed to. Supposedly, Michael and hubby had  to attend badminton games (they had booked it earlier). Again! They have to cancel it.

It was around an hour trip from Perth. In the park, you can paddle around the lake,  picnic , koala  visit and enjoying the wildlife flowers during the tracking! And the entrance fees/car is AUD11 ( concession holder is AUD5)

Enclosed photos taken during the trip:

After 3 hours stay at the park, we dropped by at the Yanchep Lagoon before returning.
Note: It's kinda cold, but i enjoyed the moment without any jacket (everyone is with jacket/jumper...except Kheow, Sean and I)
